Ocala's Most Wanted

Pigeon Drop Scam (What is a Pigeon Drop Scam?)

On 9-26-06 an Ocala resident fell victim to a Pigeon Drop
type scheme to defraud.  The scheme commenced in the Target
parking lot on SR200 in Ocala.  The victim was approached by two
unknown black females who advised they found a large sum of money
which they were going to split with her if she helped them.

The fraud was consummated at the Florida
Credit Union on SW 17th Road in Ocala when the victim gave the
suspects $3,600 in "good faith" money.  Below are two photos of one of the
suspects who was in the Florida Credit Union with the victim.  Her
identity is unknown and this is the only lead we have at this time.
If you have any information as to her identity please contact Detective
Steve Thibodeau of the Ocala Police Department at 369-7000 with the
information.
